ESTRANGED - JOEL

"A profound visual metaphor for the transition from survival to sovereignty, capturing the fragile moment of a soul finally finding the ground in which to root."

The Narrative

From a restricted vessel to an expansive forest

The resilience of the self-made landscape

Visual Analysis

A vertical monochrome photograph showing a shirtless young man with curly hair emerging from a dense, leafy shrub. The subject's torso is visible, with shadows from the foliage falling across his chest and face. His expression is steady and direct, looking into the camera. A prominent leaf shadow bisects his face, obscuring one eye while the other remains visible. His hands are integrated into the foliage, with one hand resting on a branch in the lower right. The composition is rich with organic detail, featuring high-contrast lighting that emphasizes the delicate veins of the leaves and the smooth texture of the subject's skin.
