Spannenburg employs a masterful blend of long exposure, natural daylight, and flash photography to render the invisible visible. In "DESIRE", the technical experimentation results in a haunting, ethereal aura of movement surrounding the subject. This motion blur is a deliberate metaphorical tool, representing the fluidity of identity and the internal noise of a persona in transition toward full openness.
